My research program is centered around translational research in pulmonary hypertension with a focus on endothelial cell biology. Current main interests in the lab are endothelial progenitor/stem cell hierarchy and mechanisms of endothelial stem cell plasticity in the lung in health and disease, the function of endosomal and cytosolic innate immunity receptors for RNA in lung endothelial cells (e.g., TLR3, RIG-I, MDA-5), and interaction between endosomal and mitochondrial function in endothelial cells. My lab uses in vitro and in vivo model systems, as well as human tissue and cells for a translational research approach.
