I am a professor in the departments of Pathology (primary) and Urology (secondary) at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and a member of the OSUCCC – James Molecular Carcinogenesis & Chemoprevention program. My research is focused on viruses-associated human cancer, telomerase and cytoskeleton in cell immortalization, cancer initiation and progression, and patient-derived cell models for basic cancer biology and precision oncology, as well as regenerative medicine. These projects lead to discoveries of novel non-canonical functions of hTERT protein and a novel cell culture technology.

I have co-authored more than 130 articles. My research has been published in prestigious journals including The Journal of Virology, The American Journal of Pathology, The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols.

I have mentored 15 trainees and have taught graduate biomedical education courses.

My lab research has been funded by NIH R01, R21 and R33 grants.
