Join us for MLS Seminar featuring Dr. Daisuke Kihara, Professor of Biological Sciences and Computer Science at Purdue University!

Dr. Kihara's research interests lie in the area of structural bioinformatics. His laboratory develops new computational methods for structure prediction and modeling of biological molecules, including proteins, RNA, and drug-protein interactions. These methods enable structural interpretations and hypothesis generation that were previously not possible with conventional tools. Recent work focuses on developing a series of structure modeling and validation tools for cryo-EM, as well as deep learning-based modeling approaches that extend the capabilities of AlphaFold and related methods, including NuFold for RNA structure prediction. His tools are available at kiharalab.org and em.kiharalab.org.
