Join us for MLS Seminar featuring Dr. Joana Vidigal, Senior Research Investigator at NCI Center for Cancer Research!

The long-term goal in the laboratory of Dr. Vidigal is to understand the mechanisms through which small noncoding RNA pathways regulate gene expression during animal development, tissue homeostasis, and disease. The work relies on the use of mouse models and genetic tools, together with biochemical and computational approaches, to stringently define the requirement of these pathways in vivo. Some specific areas of research are functional dissection of small noncoding RNA pathways in mice, regulation and function of RNA binding proteins (RBPs) and CRISPR tools to dissect RNA pathways. The aim is to gather actionable knowledge that can be used to design better strategies for screening, prevention and treatment of human diseases.
