Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

The DNA damage response (DDR) is a major mechanism that antagonizes DNA damage induced by endogenous and exogenous sources, including oncogene expression, ionizing radiation, chemotherapeutic drugs and targeted therapeutic agents. Replication stress response (RSR) is a branch of DDR that specifically deal with the DNA damages generated during DNA replication. Understanding the molecular mechanisms controlling the DDR and RRS has become a central topic in cancer biology and cancer therapy, and has been the key to developing personalized, molecularly-driven strategies for cancer treatment. My research expertise is DDR and RSR response and their impact on human genomic stability, tumorigenesis, molecularly targeted cancer therapy and immunotherapy.
