Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

I study mechanisms that influence Hematopoietic Stem Cell (HSC) clonal evolution and lineage commitment.

Using the zebrafish as a model, we incorporate techniques such as CRISPR gene editing, genetic barcoding, live cell imaging, and single cell genomics and epigenomics.
Understanding the determinants of HSC fate requires elucidating the interplay between intrinsic genetic programs and interactions with the hematopoietic microenvironment. Understanding mechanisms governing HSC fate could lead to improvements in treatment for HSC-associated disorders, including acute myeloid leukemia.
