Dr. Huang’s research is dedicated to advancing public health through the mitigation of risks posed by foodborne pathogens and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. His work encompasses the development of novel antimicrobials, elucidation of antibiotic resistance mechanisms and the advancement of bacteriophage therapy. He also conducts surveillance and epidemiological investigations of antibiotic resistance, complemented by in-depth analyses of the microbiome and resistome. Further, his research examines the dissemination of antibiotic resistance throughout the food supply chain and addresses broader challenges at the intersection of food safety and human health.
