Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology and a core faculty member of the Gene Therapy Institute at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. My laboratory focuses on developing next-generation genome editing technologies to enable precise and efficient gene correction for inherited diseases. By integrating CRISPR/Cas9, base editing, and prime editing-based approaches with viral and nonviral delivery systems such as AAV and lipid nanoparticles, my team aims to expand the therapeutic potential of gene editing to a wide range of tissues including the liver, nervous system and muscle. My research seeks to translate fundamental molecular innovations into clinically relevant strategies that advance the safety, precision and scalability of genome and gene therapy.
