Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

The Nihongaki Lab studies spatiotemporal dynamics of living systems by developing and implementing new molecular tools for illuminating hitherto invisible molecular processes. Our current aim is to unravel microtubule dynamics specifically focusing on the regulatory mechanisms in their luminal side, which has long been inaccessible to researchers because of a lack of tools for investigating this confined space in living cells. To overcome this challenge, we employ multidisciplinary approaches based on molecular technology development, genome engineering, cell biology, chemical biology and live-cell imaging.
