Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

The Townsend Lab for Neurobiology and Energy Balance investigates: 1) stem cells in the adult brain and how neural plasticity, especially in the hypothalamus, contributes to energy balance regulation; and 2) how the brain communicates with adipose tissues via peripheral nerves, and the local regulation and function of nerves in adipose tissues (including neuroimmune and neurovascular interactions, neural plasticity and neurotrophic factors, and neuropathy with aging or diabetes).
