Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

We are interested in the mechanisms of autophagy in brain development and in brain disorders, especially the tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Our studies reveal the crosstalk of autophagy with mTOR activation and indicate that targeting autophagy mediated lipid metabolism is a promising strategy to treat neurodevelopmental disease. Our research focus on the roles of autophagy in the development of neural stem cell, astrocyte, and microglia.
