The main focus of my research is to understand the molecular mechanism of plant-microbe interactions, and the subsequent signal transductions in plants that lead to the induction of immunity. In addition, we are using the CRISPR/Cas9-based technology to engineer plants with broad-spectrum resistance against pathogens to reduce reliance on the environmentally damaging pesticides.
