Our lab investigates the fundamental mechanisms that regulate cell growth and division in development, tissue homeostasis, and disease. We combine quantitative live-cell imaging, single-molecule tracking, genome editing, and systems-level analyses in cell culture and genetically engineered mice to uncover how cells coordinate biosynthesis with cell-cycle progression.
Current projects include: (1) defining how controlled protein degradation preserves chromatin homeostasis; (2) elucidating how global protein synthesis is dynamically regulated during growth and division; and (3) determining how size control is regulated in vivo under physiological and pathological conditions.
