The DNA damage response (DDR) is a major mechanism that antagonizes DNA damage induced by endogenous and exogenous sources, including oncogene expression, ionizing radiation, chemotherapeutic drugs and targeted therapeutic agents. Replication stress response (RSR) is a branch of DDR that specifically deal with the DNA damages generated during DNA replication. Understanding the molecular mechanisms controlling the DDR and RRS has become a central topic in cancer biology and cancer therapy, and has been the key to developing personalized, molecularly-driven strategies for cancer treatment. My research expertise is DDR and RSR response and their impact on human genomic stability, tumorigenesis and cancer therapy.
