We are excited to announce that the new online paperless workflow for our MCDB Student Progress Report form is now live.  This new workflow takes effect immediately; all progress reports submitted after today must use the new workflow.  

We know that the previous PDF forms were a frustration for students and committees and appreciate your patience as we worked behind the scenes to address that.  

As a reminder:

• All MCDB students must meet with their Advisory Committees as a group at least once per year and submit a progress report at each meeting
• First-year students must hold their initial meeting within 6 months of joining a lab
• Second-year students and beyond must meet at least once between August 1 and July 31 each year 

With this new online workflow, the progress report is now split into two Microsoft forms:

• Student Pre-Meeting Form:
  • Completed by the student 1-2 weeks prior to the scheduled meeting
  • After submission, the form will be forwarded automatically to each committee member
  • On the day of the meeting, each committee member will automatically receive an email with a link to the Faculty Post-Meeting Form (see below) to evaluate the student's progress
• Faculty Post-Meeting Form:
  • Completed by each committee member (including the advisor) after the meeting
  • Note that each committee member submits their own form
  • After submission, the forms will all be forwarded automatically to the student and advisor.
