The Lee Lab conducts translational research on natural killer (NK) cell biology and their application in cancer immunotherapy, centered on the role of IL-21 and STAT3 signaling in NK cell function and proliferation. We investigate therapeutic applications in pediatric leukemias, sarcomas, and brain tumors, genetic and non-genetic approaches to enhancing NK cell function, and approaches to overcoming immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment.
