Dr. Xiong is an assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Biosciences at The Ohio State University, where her research primarily focuses on understanding important molecular mechanisms and biology underlying breast cancer progression, metastasis, therapy resistance and recurrence, as well as identifying novel potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for breast cancer treatment. She is also interested in interdisciplinary collaborations aimed at creating innovative in vitro and in vivo models for testing novel anti-cancer drugs or drug delivery approaches, allowing to bridge the gap between fundamental research and clinical applications. The overarching aim of her lab's research is to improve current therapeutic strategies, benefiting both human and animal breast cancer patients. The lab is dedicated to translating their fundamental discoveries into clinical advancements, with the goal of improving the lives of human and animal affected by breast cancer. Additionally, she has authored or co-authored publications in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. Cancer Research, ACS Nano, Integrative Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, J Biol Chem.
